Words of Wisdom
At some point today (I think it was around 6:00 AM) I turned 43 years old. This makes me ancient in the eyes of many of my friends and coworkers, though just a young one in the eyes of my parents (still alive and kicking in their 80s.) Looking back over the years, I'd have to say the most valuable bit of wisdom I ever received was from a wise man who once told me, after I complained about a particular situation, "You have a rock in your shoe. You can learn to adjust to the rock and limp through the rest of your life or you can take off your shoe and get rid of the fucking rock." Amen.
