The above description is from austinparks.org,I guess "among others" means homeless people and crackheads.This greenbelt runs along Red River street and includes Waterloo park.
I haven't been there in years,but since half the fucking city was shut down for some marathon,I decided to check it out with the beenz.Big mistake.While dog owners are required to clean up after their pets,apparently crackheads and homeless people can shit where they please,because under every bridge there were piles of excrement,human excrement.The smell of urine was overwhelming and the place was crawling with the menacing disenfranchised.Who looked at me like a mark.It was very unpleasant.
An invitation to,oh,I don't know...Hell?
It really is a beautiful place...
...Until you start seeing the derelicts...
...Who are everywhere...this one was blocking the trail...
...even the wildlife looked strung out...
...What once was inviting,is now ominous and reeks of human waste.
Needless to say,I won't be going back.
